Alcantara, Francisco top players in Statistical Points race

Three weeks into the APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2nd Conference, Winston Alcantara of Team Burn-Out and Jenny Francisco of Team Rebels led their respective divisions for the Most Valuable Player based on their average statistical points as of October 3.

Despite playing only for one game for the past three weeks, Alcantara leads the Men’s Division MVP race with 41 statistical points (SPs) while Norman Ringor of the Bumblebees follows with 39.5 SPs. Ringor also leads the most points scored in a game with 34 markers against Burn-Out last September 26.

Reigning First Conference MVP Archie Gratil of the Warriors sits in third place with 38 SPs. Pepe Canseco of the Warriors and EJ Sulit of Burn-Out are tied in fourth place with 37 SPs each.

In the Women’s Division, Jenny Francisco is ahead in the MVP race with 30.67 SPs, having double-double game averages of 14.67 points and 15.67 rebounds. Casey Carrillo trails behind Francisco with 20.33 SPs.

Listed below are the top ten players in the Statistical Points category for each division as of October 3.

Statistical points are computed as follows:

  • 1 SP for every point scored, rebound, assist, steal and shot blocked.
  • Deduction of 1 SP for every turnover, 5 SP for every technical or flagrant foul without ejection, and 15 SP for any technical or flagrant foul that results in an ejection.
  • Total SPs will then be divided for the total number of games played by the player
