Bumblebees sting Legacy, notch 3rd place in standings

Team Bumblebees showed no signs of rust as they dominated their first game in three weeks against Team Legacy, 69-50, at the continuation of the APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2nd Conference elimination round on Saturday, November 7 at the APC Gymnasium.

This also kept their outright semifinals berth hopes alive, as they need to secure at least one more win in their next two assignments.

Leading MVP candidate Norman Ringor had his usual double-double game with 13 points, career-high 27 rebounds, two steals and two blocks.

Team captain Brix Estabillo also had a double-double output, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 boards.

The Bumblebees outrebounded Legacy with 70 boards against Legacy’s 42 rebounds.

On the Legacy side, Kit Mantupar led his team in scoring with 14 points, followed by Daniel Trinidad with 13 points. Jeff Dosado also had a double-double game with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

While the Bumblebees had only 7 of their players available for this game, they did not give Team Legacy a chance to have a taste of the lead. The Bumblebees had a better shooting percentage hitting 33 out of their 83 attempts (39.8%) compared to Legacy’s 21 mades out of 75 attempts in the field (28%).

The last two elimination round assignments for Team Bumblebees will be against the Engineering All-Stars on November 14 and against the ASPAC Boys on November 21, while Team Legacy will play their last elimination round game against Team Warriors on November 14.
