Team Bumblebees survived a close game against Team OGs, 61-66, to gain their first victory in the elimination round of the 2015 APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2nd Conference last Saturday, September 19 at the APC Gymnasium.
First Conference Mythical Five member JP Redelick continued to dominate for his team, leading all scorers with 22 points, plus 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Bumblebee’s team captain John Estabillo also helped in the scoring chores for his team, with 20 points and 4 rebounds. His teammate Norman Ringor logged 13 rebounds.
The lead swung between the teams 17 times, with no one leading by as much as 6 points for the whole game. Team OGs was able to keep the game close going into the final quarter. However, missed shots and crucial turnovers doused their chances on regaining the lead with less than three minutes left in the game.
The next game for the Bumblebees will be on September 26 against Burn-out, while Team OGs will face the Warriors as their second opponent on October 3.
