The Dream Team notched their third win against Team Rebels, as they are on route to win the APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2nd Conference Women’s Division series, 36-29, on Saturday, October 3 at the APC Gymnasium.
While missing the services of Raissa Nasara, the Dream Team managed to outclass the Rebels, led by team captain Casey Carrillo, who contributed most for her team with 11 points. Amleht Dulay also helped her team in the rebounding category, grabbing 12 boards.
Unlike their last two encounters, the game started slow as both teams managed to only have four points each at the end of the first quarter. The Dream Team held on to the lead after halftime and didn’t lose it until the end of the game.
Turnovers became the main problem for the Rebels as they have accumulated a total of 33 for the entire game. Missed shots and turnovers continued to haunt the Rebels up to the fourth quarter and finally conceded to the Dream Team with the last-second lay-up from Shana Santos.
Game 4 of the Women’s Division series is scheduled on October 24.
