Team OGs is now on a three-game winning streak, after defeating the ASPAC Boys, 79-68, at the continuation of the APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2nd Conference Men’s Division elimination round, on Saturday, October 24, at the APC Gymnasium.

The win puts Team OGs in second place and still in the running for the outright semifinals berth.

JP Redelick was not able to play, but their usual guns Paolo Diaz and Mhar Paraiso contributed heavily to their team’s scoring chores, with 27 and 18 points respectively.

Mando Batuhan, who played for only his second game in the tournament, also made his presence felt, scoring 12 points, grabbing 9 rebounds and dishing 3 assists. Ryan Vincent Go led all rebounders with 15 boards.

As for the ASPAC Boys, Kevin Vasquez led with 21 points. James Armedilla and VG Agdamag also had a good scoring night with 18 and 12 points, respectively.

In the first half, both teams took the lead, ending up with ASPAC Boys leading at the end of the second quarter, 32-30. After the halftime break, Team OGs had a 7-0 run, and was able to increase it by 10 before the end of the third quarter.

The OGs broke the game open as the shooting woes of the ASPAC Boys continued in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, in the other men’s division game, Team Legacy grabbed their first victory in the tournament against Burn-Out via forfeit.

Team OGs will play their final elimination round game against Burn-Out on November 7, while ASPAC Boys will still have two games to play, against Burn-Out on October 31 and Bumblebees on November 14.
