Boleras make it even, defeats Keng’s

Team Boleras tallied their third win against Team Keng’s 54-50 at the continuation of the APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2016 season Women’s division elimination round on Saturday, September 24 at the APC Gymnasium.

Riko Convencido of Team Boleras had her breakout game in the tournament, scoring 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Elanie Coloma had a double-double: 14 points and 11 rebounds with 5 steals.

For Team Keng’s, Ann Flores continues her solid performance from the previous game, tallying 21 points, 27 rebounds and 4 steals. Arpee Perez had a double digit scoring output of 11 points, with 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals.

Team Keng’s led game in the first three quarters and reaching as high as 12 points, despite having only 6 players available at the start of the game. Fatigue set in to Team Keng’s in the final quarter and the Boleras were able to catch up and lead the game for the first time, 44-42, at the 6:08 mark of the fourth quarter.

The Boleras were able to set up a 7 point lead with only five minutes remaining but Keng’s were able to reduce the lead to 1 with only 1:28 remaining. Elaine Coloma and Vea Cuevas were able to score crucial baskets in the final minute in order for them to seal the victory for the Boleras.

Team Keng’s will be back in action on October 1 as they will face the Ram Squad in the final game of the women’s division eliminations.
