Bumblebees remain unblemished, hands first loss to Alpha
The Bumblebees remain unbeaten as they downed Team Alpha at the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) 2017 season Men’s Division eliminations, 87-80, on Saturday, July 29, at the APC Gymnasium.
Leading MVP candidate Brix Estabillo of Team Bumblebees scored 22 points with 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Norman Ringor scored 15 points with 9 rebounds.
Team Alpha’s Jeru Castañares finished with 20 points, 3 rebound and 7 assists. New recruit Mark Jerome Rivera scored 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for a double-double game.
Sporting their new team colors, the Bumblebees showed Team Alpha their dominance in the tournament with an almost wire-to-wire finish. Alpha only got the lead once in the second quarter and from then on, the Bumblebees cruised through victory, earning their 10th straight win since the start of the 2016 season.
Both teams will be in action on August 5, as Team Alpha faces Team OGs at 5:00pm followed by Team Bumblebees vs Team ASPAC at 6:30pm.
