Dream Team drubs Rams
The Dream Team nails its second victory in the APCRAA Basketball Tournament 2017 season Women’s Division five-game series against Team Rams, 32-27, on Saturday, July 23 at the APC Gymnasium.
The victory gives Dream Team a 2-0 advantage against Rams and is only one game away for winning the Women’s Division championship.
Dream Team captain Casey Carrillo played her best game in the series so far, scoring 10 points and grabbing 9 boards. Casey Bustamante also helped in the Dream Team offense, scoring 8 points, plus 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
Team Rams’ captain Chloe Cambay scored 11 points, her highest output so far this season, plus 6 rebounds and 2 asssts.
Despite having only six players available in the game and missing the services of Jen Francisco and Ella Taroma, the Dream Team managed to hold on to the lead, reaching by as high as 10 points in the third quarter.
While the Rams garnered a total of 14 steals and had fewer turnovers, poor shooting became their perennial problem as they only able to shoot 12 out 67 attempts.
