Dream Team seized Game 1 of their five-game series against Team Rams (formerly known as Team Rebels) in a wire-to-wire finish, 67-21, to start the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) Women’s Division tournament on Saturday, July 8 at the APC Gymnasium.
After merging as a single team last season, Dream Team and Team Rams split up and continued their rivalry from their 2015 2nd conference 6-game series.
The Dream Team is led by Jenny Francisco, who made her first double-double for this year, with 21 points and 23 rebounds. Casey Bustamante also had a good output with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.
For Team Rams, Chloe Cambay took charge with 6 points and 9 rebounds. New recruit Eunice Mabborang came in second with 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
With the two former Rams at the helm of Dream Team, Jenny Francisco and Ella Taroma, they cruised through, maintaining a double-digit lead throughout the game as the Rams failed to find a spark on their offense.
