Team ASPAC ends Bumblebees’ undefeated streak

Team ASPAC is on a roll after ending Team Bumblebees’ winning streak at the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) 2017 season men’s division eliminations, 96-85, on Saturday, August 5 at the APC Gymnasium.

After winning their third straight game in four outings, Team ASPAC is on track to get the twice-to-beat advantage going into the playoff round.

Perennial scorer Mark Pagaduan led ASPAC to victory with 31 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists. Carlo Aboboto also had a good game, finishing with 15 points and 4 rebounds, despite suffering a sprained ankle in their last game.

Team Bumblebees’ go-to guys Brix Estabillo and Norman Ringor scored 20 points each, with Ringor logging a double-double with 10 rebounds.

The teams had a neck-to-neck battle in the first half. Shooting woes in the Bumblebees side began in the third quarter, as they only made 5 out of 25 attempts. This enabled ASPAC to pull away going into the fourth quarter.

Both teams will be in action on August 12 in crucial games. Team Bumblebees will meet Team OGs at 5:30pm. A win from the Bumblebees will assure them of a twice-to-beat advantage in the playoff round. If Team ASPAC would win against Team Cavs at 8:00pm, it will also give ASPAC the second twice-to-beat advantage in the playoffs.
