ASPAC dispatches Titans, Alpha wins by forfeit
Team ASPAC scored a crucial win against Team Titans, 106-81 at the continuation of the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) 2018 season elimiation round on Saturday, August 25 at the Asia Pacific College Gymnasium.
The game was dominated entirely by Team ASPAC. With this victory, they will have a bigger chance of snaring one of the last two semifinals seats. Meanwhile, Team Titans ended their campaign and got dealt with their fourth consecutive loss in the tournament.
ASPAC’s Lavesh Chandnani had a breakout game, scoring a career-high 35 points, with 5/10 shooting beyond the three point arc, and grabbed 8 rebounds. Jopet Gamboa had his best game of the season by becoming the third player in their team and fifth leaguewide to have a triple-double game. He achieved this feat with a statline of 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Jamie Juadines of Team Titans was his team’s top scorer with 18 points, plus 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Jerl Ferrer and Ronnie Corsino contributed 17 points each.
Meanwhile, the second game got forfeited in favor of Team Alpha since Team Mille only had three players available at tipoff time. The league gave Mille a combined 25-minute grace period but they were not able to have a five-roster team when it expired.
Team ASPAC will be in action on September 1 as they will meet Team Bumblebees in a virtual do-or-die game at 6:30pm. Team Alpha meanwhile will play its final game against Team 2K15 on the same day at 5:00pm.
