ASPAC makes it two in a row, downs 2K15

Team ASPAC logged their second consecutive win in the 2018 season of the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) elimination round, defeating Team 2K15, 85-76 on Saturday, July 28 at the Asia Pacific College Gymnasium.

Last year’s Most Improved Player Levi Pe Benito of Team ASPAC had his second consecutive triple-double game with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Carlo Aboboto finished strong in his first game this season with 18 points and 6 rebounds.

2K15 rookie Abe Tanco topped all scorers with 31 points, with 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Archie Gratil and Pepe Canseco contributed in their team’s scoring output with 13 and 12 points respectively.

ASPAC was in control most of the game, leading by as many as 11 points. 2k15 made a rally in the middle of the fourth quarter to even up the score at 72-all with 7:06 remaining. After getting hit in the face, Pe Benito returned to the bench.

Team 2k15 lost their momentum since, and ASPAC’s JR Quinia and Jopet Gamboa hit their rainbow shots to push their lead further, sustaining it until the final buzzer.

Team 2k15 will be back in action on August 4 versus Team Alpha while Team ASPAC will return on August 11 to go up against Team Knights.
