Knights gains #2 seed, defeats OGs in virtual best-of-three

Team Knights won their last game in the APCRAA Basketball Tournament 2018 season elimination round against Team OGs, 71-67, on Saturday, September 8 at the Asia Pacific College Gymnasium.

The win gave Team Knights the #2 seed and the twice-to-beat advantage going into the semifinals.

Alex Tagle is the top scorer for Team Knights, finishing with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Mark Rivera and Jhonel De Luna also had a solid performance with 13 and 12 points respectively.

OGs’ JP Redelick topped all scorers in the game with 27 points. Mhar Paraiso contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds.

While being the final game for both teams in the elimination round, it became a virtual best-of-three semifinals series as the winner will gain the twice-to-beat advantage going into the semifinals.

As expected, the game became a neck-and-neck battle with 7 lead changes and 7 ties. Team Knights pulled off the victory after Team OGs committed crucial turnovers in the final minutes.

Both teams will meet again on September 15 for their semifinals matchup.
