ASPAC halts Mustangs

ASPAC had a dominating debut with a victory against Mustangs 93-57, at the continuation of the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) Season 5 men’s division elimination round on Saturday, July 20 at the Asia Pacific College Gymnasium.

Kevin Vasquez had a double-double game for ASPAC, with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists. JR Quina contributed 14 points, including 3 three-point shots plus 3 rebounds.

Christian Tragico is the lone bright spot for Mustangs, finishing with a double-double statline of 26 points, 13 rebounds plus 4 assists and 4 steals.

Both teams started slowly from tipoff. ASPAC began their scoring run in the 2nd quarter limiting the Mustangs to score only 6 points before halftime. By the second half, the Mustangs’ woes continued and ASPAC secured a wide lead, by more than 30 points.

ASPAC will be playing their 2nd game this season on July 27 to face the Knights, while Mustangs will be back in action on August 3 versus Knights.
