Catayoc honored during ABT Opening Day, Francisco received 2017 Women’s MVP award

Jenny Francisco of 2017 women’s division champions Dream Team and Jacob Catayoc, former APCRAA president were honored on Saturday, June 6 during halftime of the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) Season 5 game between Mustangs and RamBall.

Francisco, who was named the 2017 ABT Women’s Division tournament Most Valuable Player was not able to receive her award two years ago due to prior commitments. Francisco’s averages during the 2017 season were 16.3 points and 21.3 rebounds per game. The trophy was awarded by Dr. Ma. Teresita “Tata” Medado, Asia Pacific College president, together with APCRAA President and ABT tournament commissioner Dann Garcia.

A special citation was also given to former APCRAA president Jacob Catayoc. He is currently the alumni association’s only active board of trustee from since its establishment in 2009. He served as the organization’s president from 2010 to 2013 and as corporate secretary from 2013 to 2019.

He was also awarded the RAM Exemlary Achievement Award, which is awarded to outstanding students and alumni for their achivements in their professional career as well as their contribution to the APC community. The award was presented by Dr. Medado together with Ms. Johanna Minglana, APC Executive Director for Student Services and Mr. Kenneth Rafanan II, APC Alumni Affairs Head.
