Team RamBall defeated fellow expansion team Mustangs, 79-58 in the curtain-raiser game of the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) Season 5 on Saturday, July 6 at the APC Gymnasium.
Joseph Gamboa, formerly of Team ASPAC, led the RamBall charge with 23 points, 13 rebounds 3 assists and 2 steals. Meanwhile, Jason Juarez and Jannuel Apostol were the top scorers for Team Mustangs, contributing 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Before the start of the game, Dr. Ma. Teresita “Tata” Medado did the ceremonial toss accompanied by APCRAA President and ABT commissioner Dann Garcia.
RamBall dominated the game and led by as much as 20 points in the third quarter. Team Mustangs tried to turn things around in the fourth quarter by reducing the lead to 8 points. However, a late rally ensured RamBall’s win in their debut game.
Team RamBall will be playing against Team Titans on July 27 while Team Mustangs will be back in action on July 20 as they face Team ASPAC.
