Team Alpha scored its first victory in the APCRAA Basketball Tournament season six men’s elimination round after defeating Team 2k18, 67-61, on Saturday, June 11 at the APC Gymnasium.
Rookie Renzo Libas led Alpha in scoring with 19 points. Jopet Gamboa had a double double performance with 18 points and 17 rebounds with 4 assists. Alex Tagle also contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.
Guess dela Cuesta finised with a double-double for Team 2k18, finishing with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Archie Gratil contributed 9 points and 2 assists.
The game was a very close one, as both teams exchanged leads six time and had 6 ties. 2k18 was able to decrease the lead to only four points with less than two minutes left in the game but Alpha was able to hold on as missed shots pestered 2k18 at the end game.
Team Alpha will be back in action on June 25 to face Knights while 2k18 will be up against team OGs on July 2.
