Carlo Aboboto of Team Knights won the Season 7 Most Valuable Player honors as the APCRAA Basketball Tournament held its Annual Awards on Saturday, July 22 at the APC Gymnasium.
Aboboto, who was also named in the Mythical Five and All-Defensive Team, got the most elimination round statistical points with 431 while also getting the most number of player votes with 13.
Meanwhile, Arvin Masaoy of Team RamBall got the nod for the season’s Rookie of the Year Award. An undrafted rookie applicant in Season Six, Masaoy got the chance to play for RamBall and was able to push the team to its first semifinals appearance in league history, averaging 18.3 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He was also named in the season’s Mythical Five selection.
For the other awards, Pepe Canseco of Team OGs won his second Defensive Player of the Year plum while Jeff Bacong of Restbak was named as the season’s Most Improved Player.
