Mille trounce Restbak

Team Mille improved their chances in getting a quarterfinals berth in the ongoing APCRAA Basketball Tournament Season 7 elimination round after scoring an important victory against Team Restbak, 70-64 on Saturday, June 17 at the APC Gymnasium.

Mille is currently in 3rd place in Group B while Restbak sits at the #4 seed. If Mille will win their game against Team OGs on June 24, they will go up to 2nd place with a 3-2 record. If they will be defeated, Mille’s chances in getting into the quarterfinal round will depend on the result of the Sheesh-Mamba game also on June 24. If Team Sheesh wins, this will force a 2-3 tie between Mille, Restbak and Sheesh. Mille will slide down to fifth place due to inferior quotient.

Team Restbak were leading most of the first half thanks to the efforts of Jeff Bacong and Chris Gabon, who scored 22 and 13 points respectively. Team Mille were able to catch up in the final minutes of the first half, reducing the lead by 5 points going into halftime. By the second half, Chris Javier, AJ Yambao and Paolo Diaz helped in the scoring chores, enough to propel Mille to secure the lead. Javier finished the game with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists, while Yambao had an output of 16 points, 7 rebounds 4 assists and 2 steals.
