Oilers chop Sibak

Richmond Oilers started their campaign in the APCRAA Basketball Tournament Season 7 elimination round on a high note after defeating Sibak, 87-75, on Saturday, May 13 at the APC Gymnasium.

The game was led by the Oilers wire-to-wire as they led the game by as much as 22 points in the fourth period.

Renzo Macaraeg led all players in scoring for the Oilers, finishing with 18 points with 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Rookie Kyle Trinidad, who replaced Mark Domingo due to injury, had a good debut game with 17 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Jerl Ferrer finished with a double-double stat line of 12 points and 10 rebounds with 2 blocks.

For Sibak, new recruit Jess Carrillo led the team with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Jay-Rix Dimara comes in second with 8 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals.

Both teams will be back in action on May 20 as the Oilers faces the Kings while Sibak squares off with RamBall.
