Richmond Oilers thwarted Gummy Bears, 87-80, to draw first blood in the APCRAA Basketball Tournament Season 7 Finals at the APC Gymnasium, on Saturday, August 5.

A close game in the first half, the Oilers were able to pull out a scoring run fueled by Lavesh Chandnani and Justine Abequibel, increasing their lead to as much as 20 points in the third quarter.

Chandnani finished the game with 14 points and 10 rebounds, with 4 out of 9 three point markers made, while Abequibel had 10 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Renzo Macaraeg was their top scorer with 17 points and 9 rebounds.
