Redelick rained down on threes as OGs escape Oilers comeback

Team OGs survived a 4th quarter comeback by Richmond Oilers during Game 1 of their best of three APCRAA Basketball Tournament semifinals series, 87-82, on Saturday, July 15 at the APC Gymnasium.

The Oilers were able to decrease the OGs lead to 2 points, 81-79 with under two minutes in the game, coming from as much as 19 points at the beginning of the fourth quarter. However, the Oilers were not able to capitalize as they missed crucial shots and free throws.

JP Redelick was the hero of Team OGs as he shot 7 out of 12 shots (58%) at the three point area. He finished with 30 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists. Pepe Canseco grabbed 18 rebounds with 13 points, for a double double output. Ralph Artigas had a near double-double game of 9 points and 15 rebounds.

For the Oilers, Justine Abequibel was their top scorer with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Renzo Macaraeg had a double-double game of 16 points, 19 rebounds with 3 assists. Team captain JP Bayog scored 14 points with 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

The OGs and the Oilers will play Game 2 of their semifinals series on July 22 at 2:00pm.
