Guess dela Cuesta of Krispy Team won the Season 8 Most Valuable Player honors as the APCRAA Basketball Tournament held its Annual Awards on Saturday, August 24 at the APC Gymnasium.
Dela Cuesta, one of the league’s pioneer players and Season 4 Finals MVP, got 505 statistical points and 14 players votes. He was also named one of the members of the All-Defensive Team and the Mythical Five.
Meanwhile, Lean Carreon of Richmond Oilers got the nod for the season’s Rookie of the Year Award. Carreon averages 20.71 points, 5.57 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game during the season. He was also named in the season’s Mythical Five selection.
For the other awards, Mark Rivera of Team Knights was named the Defensive Player of the Year while Jay-Rix Dimara of Sibak was named as the season’s Most Improved Player. Jhonel De Luna of Team Knights became the league’s first Sportsmanship Awardee.
