Team Knights is one win away in entering the APCRAA Basketball Tournament Season 8 finals after defeating Richmond Oilers in Game 1 of their best-of-three semifinals series, 101-89, on Saturday, August 17 at the APC Gymnasium.
Nonoy Sonbise and Jhonel de Luna carried the scoring load for the Knights, finishing with 23 points each. Mark Rivera had a double-double game of 20 points, 17 rebounds with 2 assists.
For the Oilers, Jerl Ferrer tops the team in scoring with 25 points, plus 12 rebounds. Lean Carreon had 21 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist.
Game 2 of the semis series will be played on August 24.
