Team Knights draw first blood in the APCRAA Basketball Tournament Season 8 finals after defeating Krispy Team in Game 1 of their best-of-three series, 74-66, on Saturday, September 7 at the APC Gymnasium.
The Knights’ win snaps Krispy Team’s 10-game winning streak dating back from Game 2 of their Finals series against Krispy Team in Season 7.
Jhonel de Luna led all scorers with 24 points plus 11 rebounds. JC Hermo had a double-double output of 12 points and 10 assists.
For Krispy Team, only Archie Gratil scored in double digits with 10 points. Alex Tagle and Brix Estabillo both were held down to 8 points, while Lester de Luna and Guess dela Cuesta contributed 7 points each.
Game 2 of the Finals will be played on September 14.
