Oilers drill Kaizen

Richmond Oilers won their second straight game in the APCRAA Basketball Tournament Season 8 elimination round against Team Kaizen, 120-79, on Saturday, July 20 at the APC Gymnasium.

Lean Carreon had a career high output of 42 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists. He also made 9 out of 17 shots in the three point arc, tying the all-time record for most rainbow shots made in a game set by JP Redelick in 2019. Carreon also broke the record for most consecutive three point shots made in a game after making six consecutive 3 point markers in the fourth quarter, shattering the old record of 4 three point shots made by Daniel Trinidad in 2017.

Renzo Macaraeg played his first game this season for the Oilers, finishing with 25 points 7 rebounds and 2 assists.

For Team Kaizen, Rom Gloria led the team in scoring with 24 points, with 10 rebounds. Christian Tragico and Welmar Esparas contributed 18 and 12 points respectively.

The Oilers will play their final elimination round game against the Elite Hoopers on July 27 while Team Kaizen will be up against Stage One OGs on August 3.
