ABT Season 9 tips off

The APC Rams Alumni Association formally opened the 9th season of its alumni basketball tournament on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Asia Pacific College Gymnasium.

Representatives from the seven elite division and five d-league division took part in the traditional parade of teams. Tournament Commissioner and APCRAA president Dann Garcia gave the opening remarks and thanked the teams for participating this season.

In celebration of the league’s 10th anniversary, APCRAA honored the remaining pioneer players that are still playing since the tournament began in March 2015. They are Jeb Agito (Ternion OGs), VG Agdamag (Sibak), Guess Dela Cuesta (Tostitos), Archie Gratil (Tostitos), Ryan Rivera (Ternion OGs) and JP Redelick (Ternion OGs).

Afterwards, the APCRAA Basketball Tournament perpetual trophy was unveiled. The trophy features the logos of the teams that have won the championship from 2015 up to 2023. The champions of the Elite Division will keep the trophy for one year and their logo will be placed with the logos of the other champions.

Tournament Commissioner Dann Garcia then led the players to the traditional sportsmanship oath.

Dr. Ma. Teresita “Tata” Medado gave the closing remarks, thanking the players for coming back to APC, and formally declared the season open.

Dr. Medado, together with APC Executive Director for Institutional Services Ms. Jo Anne Dela Cuesta did the ceremonial toss before the start of the first game of the season between Mischiefs and Kings.
