Warriors still undefeated, hand Bumblebees’ first loss
Team Warriors continues to dominate the APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2nd Conference elimination round by winning their fourth consecutive game against the Bumblebees, 69-56, on Saturday, October 17 at the APC Gymnasium.
The win by the Warriors secures a quarterfinal slot for them, and they are one win away in securing an outright semifinals slot in the playoffs.
Guess dela Cuesta led all scorers with 20 points, followed by RJ Villegas with 15 points. While Pepe Canseco had an off night in scoring, scoring only one point and missing all of his five field goals, he was able to contribute in the rebounding department with 14 boards.
For the Bumblebees, most of their players didn’t have a good shooting night. While Brix Estabillo was able to contribute heavily with 21 points and 13 rebounds, Norman Ringor missed 14 of his field goal attempts and only made a three-point shot in the final minutes of the game.
The Warriors controlled the phase of the entire game and kept the lead until the final buzzer, reaching to as much as 23 points in the third quarter.
The next game for the Warriors will be against Team Legacy on October 31, while the Bumblebees will face the Engineering All-Stars on the same day.
