Knights escape Titans comeback

Team Knights survived a potential Titans comeback, escaping with a 98-97 victory on Saturday, July 13, at the APC Gymnasium.

Leading by as much as 20 points in the fourth quarter, Team Titans stormed a scoring run, decreasing the Knights lead by a single point with 40 seconds remaining in the game. The Titans had chances to gain the upper hand but missed the potential game winning basket as the buzzer sounded.

Knights team captain Jhonel de Luna led all scorers with 19 points followed by Jaime Juadines who contributed 17 points. Rainier Montaril scored 15 points with 8 assists and 2 rebounds.

For Team Titans, Jecar Rebalde had a double-double output of 27 points and 12 rebounds with 3 assists. Justine Hernando added 18 points for the Titans with 5 rebounds and 7 assists.

The Knights, whose win-loss records currently stands at 3-1, will play their final elimination round game against Team Kings on July 27 while Titans (2-1) will be up against Team Mischiefs on July 20.
