OGs, ASPAC Boys advance to semis

The higher seeded teams, Team OGs and the ASPAC Boys will move on to the semifinal round of the 2015 APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2nd Conference men’s division, after beating their respective opponents on Saturday, November 28.

The OGs showed their dominance against Team Legacy in their quarterfinal matchup, 73-37, while the ASPAC Boys won their game against the Engineering All-Stars via forfeit, as the All-Stars failed to showed up with the minimum five players.

Three players of the OGs scored in double digits, led by Jon Batuhan with 20 points with 8 rebounds, followed by Mhar Paraiso, who had a double-double game with 11 points and 17 rebounds. Paolo Diaz completes the cast with 11 points and 7 rebounds.

For Team Legacy, Jeff Dosado led the team with 16 points, 23 rebounds and 3 assists, followed by Dan Trinidad with 13 points and 7 rebounds.

Team OGs did a wire-to-wire finish, as they have kept the lead for the entire game against the struggling Team Legacy, who had only five players available in the game.

The game broke open as early as the first quarter, and secured the lead with a 16-0 run in the second quarter. The lead reached by as high as 39 points before halftime.

The tournament’s semifinals is scheduled on December 5 as the OGs will face the Bumblebees while the other game will feature the First Conference finalists ASPAC Boys and Team Warriors. The winners of the semifinals will advance to the championship game on December 12.
