Oilers beat RamBall

Richmond Oilers will enter the APCRAA Basketball Tournament semifinal round for the third consecutive season after beating Team RamBall, 108-62, on Saturday, August 10 at the APC Gymnasium.

The Oilers, last season’s runners-up, led for most of the game, reaching by as much as 48 points near the tailend of the fourth quarter.

Kyle Trinidad had a season high of 30 points with, 6 out 10 in the rainbow arc, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Lean Carreon contributed 29 points, 5 out of 17 shots made from the three point region, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Jerl Ferrer had a double-double output of 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Before the game began, Ferrer was presented with the tournament ball by commissioner Dann Garcia after scoring his 500th point on July 27, during their elimination round game against Elite Hoopers.

For RamBall, Dudley Flores led all scorers with 18 points, with 6 rebounds and 1 assist. Arvin Masaoy and Jaycee Magsalos scored 13 and 12 points respectively.

The Oilers will face Season 6 champions Team Knights in the best-of-three semifinals beginning August 17.
