Knights advances to SF, chop Sibak

Team Knights will advance to the APCRAA Basketball Tournament Season 8 best-of-three semifinals after defeating Team Sibak in their quarterfinal matchup, 104-68, on Saturday, August 10 at the APC Gymnasium.

Before the start of the game, JC Hermo was presented with the tournament ball by commissioner Dann Garcia, after becoming the first player in league history to accumulate 300 career assists. Hermo is also the current leader in the all-time career assists.

Nonoy Sonbise had his breakout game this season, finishing with 22 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Richard Hapin contributed 20 points and 6 rebounds while Jaime Juadines scored 17 points with 5 rebounds and 1 assist.

For Sibak, Jess Carrillo led the team in scoring with 28 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists. Darrel Insigne added 11 points, with 3 rebounds and 5 assists. VG Agdamag scored 9 points with 3 rebounds.

Team Knights will face Season 7 runners-up Richmond Oilers in the semifinals starting on August 17.
