Team Boleras scored another victory against the Ram Squad, 80-29, at the continuation of the Women’s Division elimination round of the APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2016 season on Saturday, September 17 at the APC Gymnasium.
Mileth Gutierrez of Boleras tallied the first triple-double of the tournament with 15 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists. Meilyn Ip had a double-double performance of 21 points and 16 rebounds. Riki Convencido led the team in scoring with 23 points.
The Ram Squad’s Jen Francisco had a near double-double output of 10 points and 9 rebounds. Clark Belamede and Shana Santos helped with the scoring chores with 5 points each.
With only 5 players available for the Boleras in the first half, it didn’t stop them to blow the game open as the Ram Squad continued to struggle with their shots and turnovers. The game entered at halftime with Boleras having a commanding lead, 48-16.
As more players arrived for Boleras, they continued to dominate the game, with the Ram Squad scoring only 13 points in the second half.
The Boleras will be back in action on September 24 as they play their final elimination round game against Team Keng’s.
