Dream Team assured of Women’s Division championship, drubs Rams anew

Dream Team is guaranteed to win the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) 2017 season women’s division championship after winning their third straight game against Team Rams, 43-31, on Saturday, August 5 at the APC Gymnasium.

Former Rams members Jenny Francisco and Ella Taroma led the Dream Team with 14 and 10 points respectively. Francisco earned herself a double-double after grabbing 21 rebounds plus 3 steals.

Rams team captain Chloe Cambay is the lone bright spot for her team, finishing with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

The Dream Team got a head start in the first quarter, holding the Rams to only 4 points. The Rams were not able to recover since, as the Dream Team held the lead for a wire-to-wire finish.

The fourth and fifth game of this series, scheduled on August 19 and September 2 respectively will still be played, but will be non-bearing since the Dream Team got the most number of wins possible in a five-game series. Talks of tweaking both teams rosters for the next two games are currently being discussed.
