ASPAC halts Cavs, tops men’s eliminations
Team ASPAC finished at the top of the standings of the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) 2017 season Men’s Division elimination round after defeating Team Cavs, 104-87, on Saturday, August 12, at the APC Gymnasium.
Mark Pagaduan of Team ASPAC was the top scorer of the game, scoring 22 points, with 16 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Carlo Aboboto had another good game with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.
On the Cavs side, Kenneth Tan had a breakout night, with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. Ronnie Corsino had the best game of his career with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Perennial scorer Christian Tragico finished with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals.
The game was tightly contested in the first three quarters, but an offensive run in the fourth quarter broke it open, giving Team ASPAC a double-digit lead.
Team ASPAC will have twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals, facing fourth placer Team Alpha on August 19 at 8:00pm.
