Newcomer Knights slay Alpha

Expansion team Knights won their debut game in the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) 2018 season by defeating Team Alpha, 107-91 on Saturday, July 7 at the Asia Pacific College Gymnasium.

Last season’s Rookie of the Year Mark Rivera led the charge for Team Knights with double-double output of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Jhonel de Luna had also a high scoring output of 21 points with 7 rebounds.

Team Alpha’s rookie Jap Puente had a strong debut, finishing with 45 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 steals. He also set the record for the most points in a game in ABT history, erasing the previous record set by JP Redelick and Jon Batuhan last season on two different games.

The Knights took control most of the game starting the 2nd period and blew the game wide open, leading by as much as 26 points in the fourth quarter.

Team Knights will be facing Team 2k15 in their next game on July 21 while Team Alpha will go up against defending champions Team ASPAC on July 14.
