Team OGs got their second win in the 2018 season of the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) elimination round after defeating rival Team Bumblebees, 82-70 on Saturday, July 28 at the Asia Pacific College Gymnasium.
Jon Batuhan of Team OGs played his debut game this season and had a very productive output of 20 points, 12 rebounds and 7 steals.
JP Redelick became the first member of ABT’s 500 points club. He achieved the feat with a jumpshot at the 4:05 mark of the fourth quarter. He finished the game with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Bumblebees’ Brix Estabillo led his team in scoring with 14 points, followed by Norman Ringor with 13 points with 7 rebounds. Rolem Macaspac and Dexter de Guzman made 11 points each.
The OGs were ahead most of the game, holding the lead at halftime, 40-35. A 9-4 Bumblebees run at the beginning of the 3rd period tied the game for the first time at 44-all. OGs held on to the lead with a minimal margin until the end of the quarter, then they had their own 12-4 scoring run at the beginning of the fourth quarter to widen their gap against Bumblebees.
Both teams will play on August 3 with Team OGs taking on Team Alpha at 6:30pm while Team Bumblebees will square off with Team Knights at 8:00pm.
