Cookies & Team (C&T) scored their 2nd win after dominating Mille, 100-86 at the continuation of the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) Season 5 men’s division elimination round on Saturday, July 20 at the Asia Pacific College Gymnasium.
Archie Gratil headed C&T in scoring, finishing with 17 points plus 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Brix Estabillo came in 2nd with 14 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists.
Mille’s Dave Yokoi continues his scoring domination with 32 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Old gun Rudyard Sunga notched 22 points and 6 rebounds.
C&T got a headstart with a 16-3 run from tipoff. Mille, with only 7 players available in their bench, pushed back in the 2nd quarter thanks to Yokoi and Sunga’s timely baskets. Attrition set in for Mille at the start of the 2nd half, and C&T continued to pounce hard, increasing their lead to 24 in the fourth quarter.
Before tipoff, a career achievement of C&T’s Norman Ringor was acknowledged for his 500th point last season during the semifinal game against 2K15, when Ringor was still with the Bumblebees team.
C&T will be playing on August 3 to face Alpha while Mille be back on August 10 against Richmond Oilers.
