Warriors on top of standings, hands Burnout’s second loss

Defending First Conference champions Team Warriors made a statement by defeating the undermanned Team Burn-Out, 93-63, during the elimination round of the APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2nd Conference on Saturday, October 10 at the APC Gymnasium.

The win placed Warriors on top of the standings, while Burn-out slid down to last place.

Burn-out played with only five players for the second consecutive time in the tournament, while the Warriors had nine players ready to play for the game.

While Burn-Out’s Winston Alcantara gave it his all, his teammate EJ Sulit – who had a scoring spree at the three-point arc in their debut game against Team Bumblebees on September 26 – had a poor showing against the Warriors, with only five of his 21 attempts going in.

On the other side, all of the Warriors have contributed to their scoring output, led by Ron Perez with 19 points.

The Warriors led the entire game, registering their biggest lead of 39 points in the third period.

The next game for Burn-Out will be on October 17 against Engineering All-Stars, while the Warriors will be pitted against the still-undefeated Bumblebees on the same day.
