Warriors dismantle OGs, join Bumblebees in top of standings

Team Warriors, the defending First Conference Champions, tallied their second win for the APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2nd Conference as they beat Team OGs, 67-58 on Saturday, October 3, at the APC Gymnasium.

With this win, they now share the top spot in the standings with the Bumblebees.

Even without its leading scorer Archie Gratil, the Warriors still managed to get the victory with the help of Pepe Canseco and Guess dela Cuesta, who both had double-double figures in points and rebounds.

While three of the OGs produced double-digit points, this was not enough to secure the win.

The Warriors was leading for the whole game, by as much as 20 points ahead of the OGs. A fourth-quarter spark led by JP Redelick decreased the Warriors lead to two points with 4:40 remaining in the game.

After the Warriors called a timeout, Canseco and dela Cuesta orchestrated a 6-0 run to regain the momentum. They cruised through the remainder of the game until the final buzzer.

The Warriors will be playing again on October 10 against newcomers Burn-Out while the OGs will be up against the Engineering All-Stars on the same day.
