Team Knights narrowly escaped an Alpha comeback, 70-64 at the continuation of the APCRAA Basketball Tournament Season Six men’s division elimination round on Saturday, June 25 at the APC Gymnasium.
Carlo Aboboto had another career game for Team Knights with 19 points, 28 rebounds and 8 assists, nearly having the first triple double output this season. Jamie Juadines, Christian Tragico and Jhonel de Luna scored 16 points each.
For Team Alpha, Jopet Gamboa had a double double performance of 25 points, 18 rebounds with 5 assists and 3 blocks. Renzo Libas and Bryan Lim scored 10 points each.
Team Knights had control of the first three quarters of the game and leading by as much as 19 points. By the fourth quarter, Team Alpha had a 14-0 run, reducing the lead to only four points with less than a minute left in the game. Alpha had chances to tie the ball game but the Knights held on to the lead until the final buzzer.
Both teams will be playing their next game against Team Mille with Team Alpha meeting them first on July 2 then Team Knights on July 16.
