Team Predators scored a much needed victory in the APCRAA Basketball Tournament Season Six women’s division series as they got their first win in the best of five series against Team Starks, 50-27 on Saturday, July 16 at the APC Gymnasium.
Michelle Alison had a double-double performance for team Predators with 16 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists. Jiezl-Ann Turo also had a good output this game with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
Ievy Sevilla led all scorers for team Starks with 9 points with 4 rebounds. CJ Bendulo scored 6 points with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Team Predators got a good headstart in the first quarter, limiting the Starks to only 3 points, 12-3. By the second quarter, turnovers and bad shot selection hampered the Predators, giving the Starks a chance to trim the lead by halftime to just 3 points, 20-14. In the second half, the Predators regained the momentum and pushed the lead up to 11 points in the fourth quarter.
Game four of the women’s division series will be played on August 27.
