Oilers overcome 2k18 onslaught, advances to SF

Richmond Oilers blasted a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter, completing a come from behind victory against Team 2k18 in their do-or-die quarterfinals series on Saturday, August 27 at the APC Gymnasium.

Renzo Macaraeg led the Oilers in scoring with 16 points, 11 during the fourth quarter, with 22 rebounds and 4 assists. JP Bayog contributed 13 points with 7 rebounds. Lavesh Chandnani scored 12 points with 5 rebounds and 2 steals.

The win gives the Oilers the right to face defending champions, Team Bumblebees in a best-of-three semifinals showdown. This will also be the second time the two teams will meet in the semis, when the Bumblebees, known then as Cookies & Team, defeated the Oilers, two games to one in Season Five.

For 2k18, Guess dela Cuesta topped the team’s scoring with 25 points, with 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Archie Gratil had 15 points with 6 rebounds and 5 assists while Joel Carag contributed 13 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.
