Oilers drill Knights

Richmond Oilers got their third straight victory in the ongoing APCRAA Basketball Tournament Season 7 men’s elimination round after defeating Team Knights, 101-91 on Saturday, June 3, at the APC Gymnasium.

The victory gave the Oilers a solo lead in group a with a 3-0 record while Team Knights slid down to fourth place with a 1-2 record.

With only 6 players available for Knights, they have managed to hold on against the Oilers in the first half, but attrition set in and the Oilers were able to break the game open, leading by as much as 22 points in the fourth quarter.

Renzo Macaraeg had a double-double performance for the Oilers with 14 points and 18 rebounds with 4 assists. Justince Abequibel was the Oilers’ top scorer with 20 points plus 4 rebounds.

For Team Knights, Jhonel de Luna led the charge with 27 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists. Carlo Aboboto finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists, playing for the entire game without being substituted.

The Oilers and the Knights will be back in action on June 10 as they face RamBall and Sibak respectively.
