OGs down Burn-out, win fourth straight game
Team OGs won their fourth consecutive game by defeating Burn-Out, 86-73, at the continuation of the APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) 2nd Conference elimination round on Saturday, November 7 at the APC Gymnasium.
The win also kept their chances for an outright semifinals seat as they wait for the results on the five remaining elimination round.
Meanwhile, Burn-out is now out of contention in the playoffs as they have yet to win a single game in their last five outings.
While missing the services of JP Redelick, Paolo Diaz and Mhar Paraiso did the most effort for Team OGs for the entire game, scoring 25 and 23 points, respectively. Mando Batuhan also had a near triple-double performance, with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists.
For Burn-Out, their shooters JP Carbonilla and EJ Sulit garnered the most shots made, with 29 and 14 points respectively. BJ Levita led all players in the rebounding category with 20 boards.
Burn-Out, with only five players available in their roster, started the game in the right foot as they led the game for the whole first quarter by as much as 11 points. However, fatigue set in the final minutes of the second quarter as they lost their lead due to missed shots and turnovers. Team OGs kept the lead until the final buzzer, by as much as 15 points in the fourth quarter.
Team OGs will now have to wait for the results of the eliminations to know if they will get the last semifinals berth, while Team Burn-Out will play their final game against the ASPAC Boys on November 14.
