The Dream Team got their second win in the APCRAA Alumni Basketball Tournament (AABT) Women’s division six-game series by defeating Team Rebels, 46-45, on Saturday, September 26, at the APC Gymnasium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six of the seven players in the Dream Team contributed to their team’s scoring chores, led by team captain Casey Carrillo, who had a second double-double game with 16 points and 11 rebounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raisa Nasara led all players in the rebounding category, grabbing 18 rebounds. For Team Rebels, only three players were able to score points: Jenny Francisco (21 points), Chloe Cambay (18 points), and Ella Taroma (6 points).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dream Team was leading the whole game with as much as 12 points in the fourth quarter, but they started to miss their shots with 5 minutes left in the game. This gave the Rebels an opportunity to have an 11-0 run and close their gap to just one point with 20 seconds remaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rebels had two chances to tie the game, but their free throw woes haunted them, with their attempts split on both occasions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both teams will be facing each other again on October 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
