Back at the top: 2K15 snags 2018 ABT championship

Three years after their back-to-back championships, Team 2K15 is back at the top of the APCRAA Basketball Tournament after winning Game 3 of their best-of-three championship series against Team Knights, 75-63, on Saturday, October 20 at the Asia Pacific College Gymnasium.

2K15 was in control most of the game, leading by as much as 16 points at the start of the fourth quarter. A 13-0 blast by Team Knights cut the deficit by 3 points, 60-57 midway into the final period.

However, 2K15 recovered, thanks to back-to-back triples by Mark Samonte and Guess dela Cuesta to push the lead farther. Dela Cuesta and Pepe Canseco continued to pound on the Knights, earning them a double-digit lead at the last two minutes.

Abe Tanco finished with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and was named the Finals Most Valuable Player, sweeping all the major individual awards this season after being named the Rookie of the Year and the Season MVP last month. Three more players from 2K15 scored in  double digits.

For Team Knights, Jhonel de Luna finished with 17 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks. Mark Rivera and JC Hermo had a scoring output of 14 and 12 points respectively.
